Tips to Throw a Successful Baby Sip and See Party

Tips to Throw a Successful Baby Sip and See Party

We opted to have a sip and see party after the baby was born rather than a baby shower this time around. Use these tips for a successful event!

With Dominic, I had 2 baby showers, an adventure themed shower and a woodland themed shower.

These tips for throwing a sip and see party will help to create a fun and successful meet and greet for the new baby!

A sip and see party is a chance for family members and friends to meet your new baby!

I never had a sip and see party with Dominic, but with Giulietta we decided to do one since I never had a baby shower.

These 4 tips will make a successful party for baby, mama, and guests!

1. HAVE SOMEONE ELSE HOST THE PARTY, IF POSSIBLE

Being a new Mom is tiring and hosting a party can be a lot of work. If possible, have a family member or close friend host the sip and see party so that you can enjoy all your guests, be close by to the baby, and have fun! This makes it much less stressful for the new Mom and she can be around to talk about the baby more!

2. HAVE IT CATERED OR DO LIGHT FOOD

This is especially true, if you are hosting the party. Having it catered will be quicker and easier for the host. If you want to do your own food, keep it light and easy. No need for a big sit down meal when guests are there to meet the baby!

For example, we did a ‘bagels and babies’ theme so we had bagels, cream cheese/butter, fruit, banana bread, deviled eggs, cookies, coffee, and mimosas.

3. OPEN HOUSE

Rather than having a set time for the party, tell guests to come between certain times so that they can come and go as they please. This allows you to visit with each guest and everyone can snuggle and hold the baby!

4. PLAN AROUND THE BABY’S SCHEDULE

Your baby may not be on a schedule, but you most likely know when the baby is the happiest. If you plan the party for during the baby’s happiest time, you will avoid the stress of a fussy baby. Of course, it may not always work out, but planning it for the baby’s best time will be a win, win for everyone!

Gigi is happiest/most awake in the morning so we went with a breakfast/brunch sip and see party!

A HUGE thank you to my Mom and Dad for throwing us a sip and see party! We had so much fun introducing Giulietta to our family. We know she LOVED all the cuddles and kisses!
