I love to bake during the holidays. It’s one of my favorite traditions. My Mother in Law makes the most amazing gingersnap cookies and has graciously given me her recipe to share with you! She was a home and careers teacher until this past year when she retired and would make these with her students, they were always a huge hit!

I’m so excited to be sharing these gingersnap cookies with you today. I’m freezing them so that we will have them at Christmastime, but I know we will be taste testing after they bake, just for science ;)

Our baking station was the perfect set up to make these gingersnap cookies. See all the details, HERE.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 3/4 cup oil

  • 1/4 cup molasses

  • 2 cups flour

  • 2 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp ground ginger

  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 4 tbsp of granulated sugar to roll the cookies in

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, oil, molasses, and egg

  3. In a large bowl, stir the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt together

  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients

  5. Use about 1 tbsp of dough and form into a ball

  6. Roll each cookie dough ball in the white sugar and place on the cookie sheet about 2 inches apart

  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes

  8. Allow to cool for 2 mins before removing from the cookie sheet

  9. ENJOY!

These will make your whole home smell like Christmas. The combination of the ginger, cinnamon, and cloves is unreal! They are incredible!

I hope that you and your family love these gingersnap cookies as much as our family loves them!
