Fall Decor for Kitchen Shelves

Fall Decor for Kitchen Shelves

I wanted to add some fall decor to our kitchen shelves!

See how we added all of this extra storage and concrete counters HERE.

I love fall decor that is functional, but still pretty when styling the kitchen shelves.

I decided to add some fall touches to the kitchen. I hadn’t taken out my old fall decor yet this year and yesterday, I decided I wanted to get a little creative and only use what I had to style our kitchen shelf for fall.

I love shopping our home for decor. I have lots of old seasonal decor that I wanted to play around with and see if I could get it to work for my current style. Every year, my style changes just a bit, but from buying things I only truly love, I am able to constantly reuse decor each year!

I have never decorated this shelf in the kitchen for fall since we just installed it this past winter/spring. I love styling this shelf with practical items that we use a lot since we are always in the kitchen cooking. Functional decor in the kitchen makes me happy!

HOW TO STYLE SHELVES FOR FALL

I always start by clearing everything off. I like to give myself a blank space to work with. It clears my mind and erases the past styling I did so that my brain is clouded with what was done previously.

After clearing everything and cleaning the counters and the shelf really well, I got to work playing around. Styling shelves is an art form, I think! There is no science to it. I just play around and keep tweaking it until I love it! Sometimes it takes longer than other times.

For these shelves, I gathered all the things I wanted to have on the shelves/counters and then played around with where I placed everything.

Leaf platter

I started with the concrete counters. I love this leaf shaped platter. It covers the electrical outlet which I am always trying to do with decor. I love the rich brown color and the perfect autumnal shape. Next, I added my bowl of apples and pears—perfectly seasonal fruit! I had this vintage print on the opposite side of the kitchen, but it’s perfectly moody and fall like so I moved it over here. I love plants, so I put my pilea on the end. I felt like something was missing so I put this small wooden cutting board at the end for some added warmth and texture. I love how all the colors look together!

Glasses and bowls

On the shelf, I like to add height to the middle and to the sides. It feels more balanced that way. In the middle, I put 3 cookbooks. I love the height they add and the colors of the spines. I added a mini orange pumpkin and these measuring cups. On the left side, I put our plates we use daily along with hope peperomia plant in my DIY face planter. On the right side, I put our bowls and cups that we use each day. I love having dinnerware that matches my style. It makes styling the kitchen so easy because I have built in decor with items we use to eat on. Super easy to grab and plate our meals!

Counter styling for fall

I truly LOVE how this space turned out. It isn’t super in your face fall, but the small touches make a big difference. It feels more cozy and seasonal. The richer colors bring in the fall feels.
