Being home in quarantine has really brought out the crafty side of me. Dominic and I have loved doing all these easy DIY projects together.

This finger paint is so simple to make! It makes a lot so you can use it for a while before having to make a new batch.

I love that this paint is made with common household items so you probably don’t have to buy anything extra.

SUPPLIES:

  • 1/2 cup of flour

  • 1/2 cup of salt

  • 1 cup of water

  • food coloring

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and water

  2. Whisk everything together— it will be grainy in texture

  3. Pour into individual cups or a muffin tin or mason jars

  4. Add 2-3 drops of food coloring to each cup and stir to mix it all up

  5. Start painting using your finger or paint brushes or sponges

  6. HAVE FUN!

Dominic using the paint

We had a lot of paint left over, so I just covered the cups with foil to use at a later date.

It was so fun to paint with and it cleans up really easily. Dominic loved making splatters with the paint. We also used a variety of paint brushes and sponges so that he could try out different tools.

It’s a fun sensory activity that we both loved! We did it during Giulietta’s naptime, but I think she would have had fun too!

It dries with a grainy texture so it was neat to see Dominic playing with his masterpiece when it was all dry.
