I love fall decor and all the coziness it brings to our home. I love styling this vintage sewing machine for fall especially. The dark wood makes for the perfect backdrop for fall decor.

This year, I’m excited to be a part of the Celebrating Fall blog hop! If you are coming over from, Kim’s home, welcome! Isn’t her home beautiful?! Thank you to Leen for hosting this hop!

I decided to not go super literal for fall decor this year. I wanted to incorporate more natural decor and cozy textures. I wanted to use things that make you feel warm and comfortable.

Fall decor can be more than just pumpkins. I like using deeper colors and tones, chunky and big textures, cozy lighting, and warm textiles.

DRIED LEAF FALL DECOR

I focused on this little space in our home for fall decor. It’s kind of the inspiration for all my fall decor this year. I like how warm and natural it feels.

This sewing machine is an old piece from my great, great aunts. I love it in this corner. It’s the perfect backdrop for all things fall.

I used a vintage tulip basket as a backdrop. I like the mix of the vintage with the more modern prints on the wall.

The main fall decor I used is dried leaves. I went to our yard and found some big maple leaf stems and chopped them. I didn’t put them in water and just let them air dry. A little tip—keep them in the garage for a few days before to dry out and make sure all the bugs are off!

I like the texture and the drama they add. I made sure to leave extra length on the stems so that they would be really long and full. I used the biggest and tallest for the center and then some smaller branches for the sides. I also used my dried eucalyptus to add different colors and shapes.

Dried leaf decor and candles

I moved a print I had from the bookcases to the sewing machine. The battery operated candles are a beautiful amber color and the faux wick moves so they look very realistic.

I like the mix of the different vases for the dried leaves. The big amber beer growler is perfect for the fall season along with the glass jar with leather accent (target $ spot find!). The big vase in the middle is so organic feeling and I love the vintage pie pans underneath it.

On the floor, I put the vintage jug I’ve had for years alongside an orange pumpkin which I have had for years too. The pumpkin ties in the orange from the artwork hanging on the wall.

The leather chair is so masculine, but softened with the big sherpa blanket and mustard windowpane pillow. I love this leather chair because it was made by John Paul’s grandfather!

I just love this little nook. The juxtaposition of the vintage with the modern touches is so fun. It’s fall, but not over the top. What do you think!?
