Since we aren’t able to go to the gym right now, I thought I would share some of our favorite at home workouts. I even have ones for kiddos!

We have always loved at home workouts because we haven’t always had a gym membership. These workouts are ones we have done for a while and now we find ourselves going back to them. I also included some from your suggestions which I’m excited to try out.

WORKOUTS FOR ADULTS

  • Yoga with Adriene: I love this YouTube channel! So many good yoga workouts for all different levels of expertise. Adriene is super encouraging and I love her mindfulness. I even did a lot of these while pregnant with Giulietta. She also has some meditation videos which are really nice too

  • Beachbody: I have done the 21 Day Fix before and loved it. I didn’t always follow the actual meal plan, but the workouts are challenging and there are different ways to modify each movement.

  • Take a walk/run/stretch: these aren’t cancelled and can seriously boost your mood! We have been trying to take a walk every day to get some fresh air

  • Barre Centric: a local Buffalo Barre studio has a great YouTube channel with tons of workout videos or you can sign up for their FB group to join virtual classes

  • Free MVMT Shop: a Chicago based dance, yoga, and workout studio. They are offering virtual classes that you can sign up for on their site

  • RIPT 90: We’ve had these workout DVDs for a while. They are a good workout and use weights which we love.

  • FitOn App: Lots of you suggested this app—free workouts with lots of variety

  • Brooke Burke: YouTube channel

  • Love Sweat Fitness: YouTube channel with lots of great workouts, nutrition, and more videos

  • Blogilates: YouTube channel with a variety of different workouts for all

  • Get.To.Practice: An IG account for yoga and dance! She goes live periodically for all sorts of classes!

WORKOUTS FOR KIDS

  • Robotots: A channel on YouTube that has a variety of exercises for kiddos. Dominic enjoys it and gets to move his body around in silly ways

  • Go Noodle: A great resource with tons of videos to engage kids in all different ways to move

  • Cosmic Kids Yoga: another YouTube channel that caters to kids and movement

Hope this list gives you some ideas for working out at home. I feel much more calm after getting a good workout in. It helps center me and I have made it a part of my daily routine. I love how powerful and accomplished I feel after working out.

Honestly, just going for a walk is amazing and lifts your spirits. Moving my body helps to shift my mind from wandering and has been so helpful, especially during these quarantined days.
