As the holiday season starts rolling in, I love to create a cozy guest room for all our family and friends that stay with us.
We recently updated the guest room, which you can see, HERE, so now our guests have a beautiful place to stay.
I have some really cozy holiday guest room ideas that you can easily use in your home that are also super budget friendly!
Since both of our families live out of town, we tend to have lots of guests year round, but especially during the Holiday season! I wanted to create a space that felt warm and inviting for them yet also festive and fun!
When I think of cozy bedrooms, I think of lots of textures and layers. Kohl’s had all the bedding we needed to create a cozy vibe!
You know that I love neutral colors, but I also love blue tones so I wanted to add some blue touches to compliment the accent wall in the guest room. For the bedding, I went with a cozy, cabin, Holiday feel. Kohl’s has such amazing bedding that I was able to find lots of great pieces to fit this theme.
Layering is crucial to get that cozy holiday guest room vibe so let’s start with the sheets and work our way up! These sheets from CuddlDuds were the first thing that caught my eye at Kohl’s and as soon as I saw them, I had my whole theme picked out. I had to have them!
They are not only adorable, they are so soft and such great quality. I love the cute print of them and bring in cabin feels I wanted, without being over the top.
The next layer is the quilt from The Big One, which is reversible. I wanted to bring in the blue from the sheets and the wall and found this beautiful plaid quilt that also has touches of red. It’s the perfect combo to combine the blues I love with traditional Holiday colors. I also love plaids during the Holiday season.
For some added warmth, I used this crisp white comforter from The Big One. I wanted it to pop off the more creamy whites that were in the sheets and quilt. My tip is to grab one size bigger than your bed for your comforter so that it feels more full and luxurious. So I have a king size comforter on the queen guest bed.
Next, I added some extremely soft throw pillows. I wanted some more red so I chose 2 red velvet square pillows from CuddlDuds to bring in more Holiday cheer. In front of the red pillows, I layered this oblong sherpa pillow, also from CuddlDuds. It adds fullness to the bed and just kind of invites you in.
Lastly, I found this sherpa throw blanket from CuddlDuds and laid it on the end of the bed. I love having extra blankets on the bed, in case our guests get chilly during the night. They are a nice way to add some more texture and coziness!
Our guest room wouldn’t be complete without some new pillows for our guests to sleep on. These are from Serta and are so comfortable and soft, I tested them out ;) I may end up taking them for our bed after our guests leave! I love them!
I am so thrilled with how the guest room turned out for this holiday season. I love that it is Holiday themed, but can also work into the cold winter months. Kohl’s had everything I needed to create a cozy space for our guests to rest their heads.
