Artwork and Decor in a Boy's Room

Artwork and Decor in a Boy's Room

We have been slowly adding some new artwork and decor in Dominic’s room.

See his room tour HERE.

Our little boy is growing up and I wanted to make his room feel fun and full of his favorite things so I found some cool artwork and decor to represent him!

Dominic’s room is so perfect for him! He loves all things cars, trucks, and buses so it’s only natural that he has a car bed!

I wanted to incorporate some of his other favorite things throughout the room as well as things that we have been given over the past 3 years of his life. I love combining a mix of ‘themes’ to create an eclectic look. Dominic has many interests right now and I want his room to foster an environment of learning, play, imagination, and relaxation.

His room is still a work in progress and I actually have a lot of plans for his room such as stenciling one of his walls, maybe putting wallpaper on the ceiling (???), building a shelf, and adding more decor as we go.

ARTWORK

On Dominic’s big black wall, I wanted a piece of artwork that was different and unique. I wanted something that was still playful, but also something he could grow with. I found this poster from Photowall and it’s AMAZING! I love it so much and so does Dominic! It’s a map of the world, but feels more whimsical and kid friendly with all of the animals, planes, and hot air balloons. He loves looking at all the different things on it and pointing out the animals. I love the muted colors and the vintage feel. I got the size 59” x 39” and it’s the perfect size for the large wall. It came with the hanger and nail too! Use code: lindsayaratari25 for 25% off! If you’re looking for some beautiful posters, wallpaper, or canvas prints, check out Photowall!!

As far as other artwork goes, I framed this beautiful drawing from a family friend that we were given when Dominic was born. It’s the sky on the day he was born, which I think is super cool!

I also framed this handwritten prayer that my Grandfather gave to us when Dominic was born. I’ve always loved my grandfather’s handwriting and I think it will be something we treasure forever.

I found this canvas road print in the Target dollar spot over the summer. It’s fun and simple, but perfect for this awkward, round corner in his room.

My plan is to add a shelf next to the dresser and put more artwork and books on display on it. This will free up a bit of space on his dresser too!

DECOR

His decor is pretty simple because let’s face it, boys don’t really care about decor, LOL! I did put this cute bear hamper in his room that is filled with books. He has a cute little book corner with his name chair, a little rug, and a comfy blanket.

I also put his little stool in his room so he can help us pick out his clothes and pjs which he has been very interested in lately.

On his dresser, I have a couple plants. One is a snake plant and the other is a satin pothos. He doesn’t get too much sunlight in his room so these are perfect low light loving plants for here. I love having plants in a space as it brings lots of natural elements and plants make everyone happy :)

He also has his diffuser and sound machine on his dresser. I stacked a couple of books under the snake plant to give some height as well.

Dominic also has a collection of stuffed animals that are always on rotation on his bed. His bedding is from Beddy’s and is the perfect bedding for kiddos! It zips up so they can easily help with making their bed each day. Use my code: ARATARI for 15% off their whole site, HERE.

I love decorating children’s rooms! I love how magical and whimsical they can be. You can mix a bunch of styles together and have each space really represent your child. There are no right or wrong ways to decorate a kids room either!
