Antique Table

Antique Table

Today, I have another recent basement find which is this antique table.

I have it all styled for Christmas since I have started decorating! See my recent makeover HERE.

This antique table has lots of character and charm that I love!

My basement is full of forgotten treasures that have been waiting for me to give them life again. This table is the most recent find & may be the last. This was tucked away in the corner of the basement. I had been eyeing it for sometime, but John Paul & I agreed that this was a little too heavy for just me & him to carry up the stairs. Our friend dropped by this morning so we enlisted his help to carry this up the stairs.

This was NOT so pretty at first. It was so gross & dirty. I think I spent at least 2 hours this morning cleaning it. The amount of dirt that had accumulated on it was crazy. I used some all purpose cleaner & a whole lot of paper towels to get this beauty shining. After giving it a nice cleaning, this piece is even better than I could have imagined.

It's new home is in our dining room & we moved the chippy bench to our front porch.  Next Spring I plan to use the bench to hold all different plants.

I have no idea what this table was originally used for.  I'm thinking maybe a painters table as there is some paint drippings on the top of it? Possibly a kitchen cabinet at one point?  I just love the drawer pulls & the little locks on the doors.  I think it adds so much character.

I styled it with some of my favorite antiques like my vintage chicken feeder filled with faux flowers & my rustic wash bin that I put a pillow in. On top I used a burlap runner, a few faux Christmas trees, & a couple candle holders.
