The Why Behind my Blog

The Why Behind my Blog

I wanted to open up a bit and share the why behind my blog!

You can read about my blogging journey, HERE.

I have been blogging for almost 6 years now and I thought it would be fun to dive deep into why I started my blog and why I continue to share on my little corner of the internet!

I started my blog kind of on a whim to have a creative outlet while I was in a very sales driven job. I loved being able to write and share my love of all things HOME!

As my blog and business has evolved and changed over the years, my WHY has always stayed the same. I have always wanted to inspire women to live a life they truly love! Whether that is through styling their homes, their outfits, making yummy meals for loved ones, or traveling on this journey through motherhood. Having a space here on the internet that makes all of these things come together in one place has always been my goal.

WHY I LOVE SHARING ABOUT OUR HOME

My main focus on my blog has always been about our homes and how I am styling it or sharing any updates/renovations we are doing to it. I truly think that living in a home you love is so important because everything in life begins at home. It’s our respite from the world. Our safe haven. A place we are comfortable in. An oasis to relax and feel calm. A home is where we feel loved, where we can laugh, where we can cry, where we can truly be ourselves. That’s a beautiful thing!

To me, decorating a space makes me happy and it brings me joy. It makes our family feel at peace and comforted. I want other women to feel this way when they are styling their homes as well. I want you to have these feelings of happiness when bringing in pieces to your home. We all deserve to have a home we love, whether it’s our forever home, a temporary home, a rental, or anything in between.

Now, this doesn’t mean that you need to break the budget to get all the latest and greatest. I never want anyone to feel this way. Creating a home you love doesn’t have to mean that you spend tons of money. It’s a creative process that takes time and I want to inspire you to bring pieces in your home that you TRULY love. When you do this, you will always love your home.

Home is a very special place and since we spend so much time here, I want our family to love it. My kiddos feel cozy in their bedrooms, they feel inspired in the playroom, they feel happy in the kitchen, and loved in the living room. They know this home (wherever it may be) is theirs as much as it is mine and they take pride in it. They respect it and love it like John Paul and I do.

A COMMON QUESTION I AM ASKED

I often get asked how I have a home that is so styled with little kiddos. My answer is always that my house is designed to be a place we ALL enjoy and love. There has always been decor and things around the house since my kids were babies. They have grown up with it, they know it’s here. It’s nothing new for them. Of course they explore and will touch things. They have lots of their own things to use and play with that the rest is just left alone. I also leave lots of blank space for them. I rarely leave up coffee table centerpieces or super breakable/dainty things at their eye level. It’s the season of life I am in right now, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t have a home that I love filled with pieces that I truly love! It’s a balance of creating a home that works for everyone in the house.

I have included my kiddos in a lot of the decorating over the years. They get excited to bring out the pumpkins for fall or the Christmas trees at Christmas or move the furniture around. In fact, they like to do this in their own rooms. They have all little trinkets and things around because they want to decorate their rooms. They take pride in their rooms and their rooms are a reflection of them. I LOVE IT!

MY WHY

This is my WHY! I want this for you and your family in your homes and your life. I hope that you leave my space here on the internet feeling that you can try new things in your home to make it a place that you love. Whether you take an idea from a centerpiece I share or take a tip from rug sizing or find a new paint color you love from our home or find a pair of jeans that you feel amazing in or try out a new recipe, I want you to come to this page and feel that you deserve all the happiness and good in this world. And guess what….YOU DO DESERVE IT!!!

I will wrap this up because I know this is getting long, but I wanted to kind of pour my heart out and share more of the behind the scenes as to why I share what I share. I try to always have a reason for sharing something. I want to inspire you and encourage you to live a life you love. After all, we only have 1 life to live so why not live it to its’ most potential!

THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE! I truly love sharing and I feel honored that you take the time out of your day to spend time on Aratari At Home.
