Chocolate Butterfinger® Peanut Butter Trifle

This post is sponsored by Ferrero, however all thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting brands I love.

This chocolate and peanut butter trifle comes together so easily using only a few ingredients.

I love making simple desserts for summer and this chocolate and peanut butter trifle is so easy and delicious made with Butterfinger® minis!

Summer desserts are some of my favorites.  I try to make things that are crowd pleasers if we are having a get together so that I know everyone will love it!  This trifle is such a yummy treat and is always a hit!

When the temps rise, I don’t want to be in the kitchen baking so this dessert is perfect as it requires only a little bit of baking time. The layers on the trifle are so pretty and you can easily double the recipe if you need to feed more people! It’s best served chilled so it’s perfect for cooling down on a hot summer day!

The combination of chocolate and peanut butter is one of my favorites, therefore I love Butterfinger® minis! They are so delicious in this trifle as they add the perfect crispety, crunchety texture among all the softer and creamier ingredients. The peanut-buttery flavor is a standout with all the chocolate too!

INGREDIENTS:

FOR THE TRIFLE:

  • 1 bag of Butterfinger® minis

  • 1 box of brownies

  • 1 box of vanilla pudding

  • 1/2 cup of chocolate sauce

  • 1/2 cup of melted peanut butter

FOR THE WHIPPED CREAM:

  • 1 cup of heavy whipping cream

  • 2 tbsp of powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Bake the brownies according to the directions on the package and allow to completely cool

  2. Make the pudding according to the directions and allow to chill

  3. Place the bowl and whisk that you are using for the whipped cream into the freezer for at least 15-20 minutes

    • I put mine in before I started building the trifle so that it’s ready to make once the trifle is done

  4. Using a mallet, crush the Butterfinger® minis into small pieces, leaving some larger chunks

    • Leave out a few whole Butterfinger® minis to top the trifle with

  5. Start assembling the trifle by cutting the brownies into small pieces and place a layer of brownies on the bottom of the trifle bowl

    • I use about 1/2 of the brownies for the first layer

  6. Layer half of the pudding on top of the brownies and smooth over the whole layer

  7. Drizzle chocolate sauce and melted peanut butter on top of the pudding

  8. Sprinkle the crushed up Butterfinger® minis

  9. Repeat all the layers again

  10. Make the whipped cream by combining the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla in the bowl that was in the freezer

    • Whisk together for about 1-2 minutes until stiff peaks form

  11. Add the whipped cream on top of the trifle

  12. Drizzle a little more peanut butter on top of the whipped cream

  13. Sprinkle a bit more of the crushed Butterfinger® minis and add 3 whole ones to complete the trifle

  14. Chill for at least 30 minutes and ENJOY!

This recipe can be easily doubled if you need to by just making a double batch of the brownies, pudding, and using 2 bags of Butterfinger® minis. This is such a go-to summer dessert! It looks so pretty with all the layers and it’s so simple to whip up!
