Charleston Trip

Our trip to Charleston was so much fun!  We had never been there before & we already can't wait to go back!

See my favorite packing tips, HERE.

It is such a gorgeous city combined with rich history & charm.  The food was delicious & the people were friendly.  I wanted to share some highlights from our trip, in case you are planning a trip here soon!

We went to Magnolia Plantation & it was stunning!  I felt like we stepped back in time.  The grounds were beautiful even though not everything had fully bloomed yet.  The green grass, ponds, & bridges were so quaint & peaceful.  We took a tour of the plantation home which was full of antiques & character.

The tour guide was great & you could really feel the love that had been put into the home.  Talk about a lot of inspiration in there.  You could not take photos inside the home, but just image lots of wood tones dotted with beautiful paintings, china, & furniture.  I kept telling John Paul that I wanted a plantation home LOL

We made our big announcement at the plantation & in case you missed it, here it is again!

We are expecting our first baby this October!  We cannot wait to be parents & to start this new journey.

Rainbow Row was a huge hit!  Again, I told John Paul I wanted a house on Rainbow Row.  Each home was so unique & the outsides were filled with so many amazing details.  I wish we could have seen the insides of some of the houses.  Breathtaking!  Also the views around Rainbow Row are gorgeous looking right into the water.  The Battery was so pretty along with Waterfront Park & the iconic pineapple water fountain.

We spent the majority of the week at a beautiful house right on Folly Beach.  We went with my in-laws & it was so fun to watch our little nephew, who is almost 2, experience the beach for the first time.  He had so much fun playing in the sand & the ocean.  We all loved seeing this new world for him.  We soaked up lots of sunshine which is exactly what we needed.  We made family dinners in the gorgeous kitchen, had lots of laughs on the deck, & most importantly made memories to last a lifetime.

One day we went back into Charleston & did the tour of Fort Sumter.  It was the perfect sunny day to take the ferry ride out to the fort.  We learned so much about the Civil War & where it all began.  Definitely worth doing if you have the chance to check it out.

Some of the restaurants we ate at were:
- Poogan's Smokehouse: delicious BBQ with a fun farmhouse vibe
- Star's Restaurant: beautiful restaurant with lots of yummy options (they also have a rooftop!)
- Fleet Landing: Seafood joint on the water with beautiful views!  SO good
- Taco Boy: Fun Mexican spot right on Folly Beach with amazing tacos & nachos

We wanted to try all the restaurants there because they all had such amazing menus & reviews!  I really don't think you can go wrong at any of Charleston's restaurants!

Charleston was the perfect getaway & the perfect place to announce our baby news!  We had the best week, but there really is nothing like being home.   This was fun to relive our vacation!

Thank you for stopping by the blog today!
