Book Reviews for January and February

I’ve been reading a lot since the beginning of the year so I thought I would share my book reviews for the past couple of months.

See my word for this year, HERE, which kind of relates to all of the reading I have been doing.

These book reviews are just quick snippets of what I think about the books I read in January and February, in case you are looking for some new books to check out!

I recently downloaded the Libby App and I have been obsessed! It’s free and it uses your local library card so that you can check out books right onto your phone.

I like books that are fun since I read a lot at night when the kids are in bed and my brain is already tired. I plan to check out some other genres soon too though!

THE HONEY DON’T LIST by Christina Lauren

Love the back and forth between the main characters to get both perspectives. Love the nods to home decor in it. Easy to read and I was happy with how it ended!

I’VE GOT YOUR NUMBER by Sophie Kinsella

This was fun! Love that it’s a love story, but also has some good plot twists. I didn’t love the foot notes because I read it on my phone so it made it a little difficult to navigate, but not that big of a deal.

PEOPLE WE MEET ON VACATION by Emily Henry

This was so cute! I wanted to be the characters visiting all the places they travelled to. A great friendship to lovers story!

IT ENDS WITH US by Colleen Hoover

This book left me so happy in the end. Loved the writing and the going back and forth from present to past. Tough to read some parts, but worth it to get to the end. Trigger warning though for domestic abuse.

THE UNDOMESTIC GODDESS by Sophie Kinsella

An interesting perspective of a woman with a high power career leaving it to become a maid. Loved that she forged her own path and how she ended up figuring out a major problem with her old job.

THE UNHONEYMOONERS by Christina Lauren

This was funny and cute! An enemy to lovers story. A unique setting of taking a honeymoon that isn’t theirs due to food poisoning and making the best of it!

THE KISS QUOTIENT by Helen Hoang

SPICY, SPICY! I really enjoyed this book. A woman on the spectrum hires an escort to help her start dating. Love the authenticity of their love and how it weaves in her econometrist career with his life that was kind of ruined by his father.

JOSH + HAZEL’S GUIDE TO NOT DATING by Christina Lauren

I read this in one night! Such a fun modern twist on dating. Loved the characters and how they interact with each other.

BEACH READ by Emily Henry

A tale of neighbors who have a past rivalry from college. I absolutely loved this book and how it progressed. I loved learning about all the different layers to the characters. A fun romantic novel that has lots of good story lines.

THE SOULMATE EQUATION by Christina Lauren

This was a cool story line! A single mom isn’t looking for love, but happens upon it when sending in her DNA to be potentially matched with her soulmate. It’s about a new dating service that matches people through their DNA. Sweet and charming with some spice! Really enjoyed this read!

IT HAPPENED ONE SUMMER by Tessa Bailey

I want to visit this town the book takes place in. The characters are so lovable! I loved how the main characters supported each other and learned more about each other than what meets the eye.

SWEET FILTHY BOY by Christina Lauren

HOT!!! Lots of steamy scenes! A celebratory girls trip to Vegas ends up in marriages. It takes place in Paris which brings me back to when I studied abroad. Love how the main characters take a chance on a totally new way of life and getting to know one another.

TO LOVE JASON THORN by Ella Maise

This was super cute! I could totally see this being made into a movie! A writer’s book is being turned into a movie and the main character cast is her childhood crush who happens to be her brother’s BFF. It’s fun to see how their relationship grows since she has loved him since she was little. A little spiciness in here too!

NOVEMBER 9 by Colleen Hoover

OMG this book will stay with me for a while! I loved the whole concept of this book. The main characters meet the day she is going to move to NYC from California. They agree to only see each other once a year and give each other goals for the year. They don’t plan to communicate or find each other, but meet up each year until they are 23. The book takes a big turn which I did not see coming. LOVED loved loved this book! Might be my favorite read so far!
