2020 Word of the Year

2020 Word of the Year

I am so excited for my 2020 word of the year!

See mine from last year, HERE.

My word of the year for 2020 is one I have been thinking of a lot and I can’t wait to see how it translates to everything in my life.

Gigi and me

I just learned about a word of the year last year and I loved it so I wanted to do it again for 2020. I think choosing a word helps to keep me on track for what I want to get accomplished each year. It’s kind of the foundation for everything I want to do.

My word of the year is THRIVE. I turned 30 on December 2 and I kept saying 30 and thriving which made me think that would be a great word for 2020.

WHY I CHOSE THIS WORD

I chose this word because I want to do things that fulfill me and help me grow. I want to flourish and be successful. I want to do more than just ‘survive’ and figure things out.

It’s like that saying, ‘you can’t pour from an empty cup’— I can’t be the best Mom, Wife, Sister, Friend, Businesswoman, etc, if I am not taking care of myself. By choosing the word THRIVE, I feel it will be a reminder that in order to be the best version of me and THRIVE, I must take care of myself and do things that fill up my cup.

HOW THIS WILL APPLY TO 2020

I’m not saying I’m going to be doing anything extra lavish or crazy, but just appreciating the little things a bit more. I want to take more time to do things I love and to think outside the box. Go back to my creative roots that I love so much.

I plan to continue to wake up early before the kiddos to enjoy a hot cup of coffee. I plan to continue to go to my favorite barre classes at the gym.

I want to go on more dates with John Paul. We also want to go on a cruise or a vacation for our 5 year anniversary this year!

I want to continue to use essential oils and clean products. I love replacing products with cleaner options.

I want to continue to improve my skincare routine. I have found I really enjoy skin care products and trying them out.

I want to share more style sessions (I went to school for fashion, did you know that?). How to style clothes, accessories, and shoes in a variety of ways.

I want to share more home decor ideas/tips. I haven’t shared as much about home decor as I have in the past, but it’s a huge passion of mine so I want to share more.

This is just a small list of how the word THRIVE will help me throughout the year and I’m sure I will think of more things as the year goes on. I don’t want to run myself into the ground with a bunch of projects/ideas, but I just want to do things I love!
