I wanted to update our bedding to give it a new, fresh look. I wanted tons of layers and textures too.

I didn’t want to stray too far from the neutral colors I have in the bedroom, but did want to add a little pop of color. I browsed the Joss and Main site and came across the perfect combo of modern and bohemian style bedding.

BEDDING PIECES

In the past, I usually just do a duvet cover, but I wanted to add more interest with the addition of a quilt. I also wanted a couple more pillows for more coziness.

We weren’t changing out the headboard so I needed things that would work with the cool toned charcoal headboard, but also pull in the warmer tones of the paint and the rest of the decor in the room.

The first piece I found was this gorgeous quilt set, which is sadly sold out, but I will keep an eye on it to see if it comes back stock! I love the mauve/pink color and I thought it was the perfect pop with all of the neutral tones in the room. It’s a very warm color so it works with all the warm tones in the room. I think it’s beautiful against the charcoal headboard too! Check out these other options, HERE, HERE, and HERE.

I knew I wanted to keep everything else simple after finding that quilt set so I opted for this duvet cover and shams in white. It’s cotton, but has the worn in linen look. I love the juxtaposition of the bright white next to the quilt and the headboard. It looks so lived in and cozy which is exactly what I hoped for!

I then found these huge pillows! They are great quality and I think they make such a statement against the big headboard. I needed some larger pillows as our headboard is quite big so I wanted to balance it all out. I love the beige color too!

Lastly, I grabbed this soft blanket for the end of the bed. It’s so cozy and comfy and I love the added texture on top of the white duvet. It ties in the pillow color as well. The fringe detail is fun too!

Check out all the pillow options HERE and the bedding options HERE.

LAYERING MODERN AND BOHEMIAN STYLE

I call this modern and bohemian because of the warmer tones, the fun textures, and the colors. It has a very boho feel with the whimsical quilt, but with the bright white duvet, it leans modern too.

I love mixing styles and I think this is the perfect blend of modern and bohemian.

The base layer is our sheets which we already had. I don’t like using the flat sheet, so we don’t put that on our bed, anyone else? Then I put the quilt on and pulled it all the way under the pillows so that a little would hang off the foot of the bed. I then put the duvet at the end of the bed and folded it to give it lots of fullness. Lastly, the blanket goes on top of the duvet for more coziness.

For pillows, I put our sleeping pillows layered on top of each other. Then, I put the big accent pillows in front of those, followed by a smaller patterned pillow we already had.

The bed feels full and luxurious. It feels warm and welcoming and calls my name at the end of a busy day, HAHA!

Head on over to Joss and Main to check out all of the fun pieces they have! Lots to choose from :)
