Cape Cod Trip Recap

Cape Cod Trip Recap

Our Cape Cod trip was so fun and I wanted to give a little recap on what we did!

See our Finger Lakes Travel Guide HERE.

Cape Cod holds a special place for me since I grew up going there every summer and this trip recap makes me excited to go back next year!

Cape Cod is one of my favorite places. I grew up going there every summer with family. We stayed in my aunt’s house with all my cousins and it was always the best time with the best memories.

We took a trip with my family this summer and it was amazing. Filled with lots of love, laughs, and memories. It really is a special place.

If you have never been, I HIGHLY recommend going at some point, if you get the chance. It’s a beautiful escape with lots to do.

WHERE TO STAY

  • My aunt’s house was in Sandwich, MA which is right near the beginning of the Cape. I love this area because it’s easy to get to and since it’s right over the bridge, you don’t have as much traffic

  • This trip, we stayed in Harwich which is more mid cape. I love this area because it’s central to everything. Lots to do, lots to see, and easy to get to all different areas on the cape

  • I have stayed in Dennis and Centerville before too which are also Mid Cape

  • Chatham is on the elbow of the Cape and such a beautiful area to stay

  • Hyannis is great because it’s central and close to the ferries to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket

  • Air BnB or VRBO is a great way to find a spot to stay

WHERE TO EAT

  • Honestly, anywhere with seafood! I love clam chowder, lobsters, lobster rolls, clam strips, steamers, scallops, and fish and chips. This trip we ate at Spanky’s for our big dinner out and it was delicious. Right in Hyannis and close to the ferries. Such a nice location

  • Homemade ice cream shops. The Cape is full of little ice cream shops with yummy ice cream.

WHAT TO DO

  • Visit Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket—you take a ferry to these islands and they are full of charm, cute shops, beaches, yummy food, drinks, and more

  • Go to Provincetown—this town is at the very end of the Cape. It’s full of unique shops, beaches, delicious restaurants, and more!

  • Beaches—there are SO many public beaches. We did Chapin Beach this time, but Mayflower, Craigville Beach, Nauset Beach, Marconi Beach, Old Silver Beach, or Lighthouse Beach. All unique and beautiful

I really don’t think you can go wrong anywhere on Cape Cod. It feels so relaxing and peaceful once you cross over the bridge and are on Cape Cod. The seafood is so fresh and delicious. The beaches are family friendly and beautiful. The scenery is just a dream. I love all the hydrangeas in the summertime! It really is a gorgeous place to visit. I would love to have a little summer home on Cape Cod one day….we will see!
