My Favorite Non-Maternity, Maternity Clothes...So Far

Time for another "bumpdate!" I was 22 weeks on Monday & the baby bump is finally starting to pop! You can't tell too much yet with my everyday clothes because I don't typically wear tight clothing.  For my bump photos, I have been wearing a tighter tank top to easily document the growth so it's definitely there. In the next few weeks, this bump will be making an even bigger appearance :)

So I am still feeling good even with this extremely hot weather we have been having.  Luckily we have a pool & central air which has really helped.  Not sure I would be saying I was so happy if we didn't have these little luxuries LOL.  I just recently started to feel him move around.  I notice the movements mainly at night.  You can't see any movements from the outside yet, but the moving around is getting stronger & stronger.  John Paul is SO excited to be able to feel our little one moving one...I'm thinking it might be soon!  I love feeling him move around, so surreal!!

We are starting to plan my baby showers.  I am so lucky that my Mom and Mother in Law are each throwing me a baby shower as they both live in different places, it makes it easier for family & friends to celebrate.  I can't wait to share what we have come up with for each!  We also registered for all the baby things.  It's a lot harder registering for baby showers than it is for wedding showers LOL!  It was so much fun picking out all the new baby gear.  We chose lots of neutral things, but did add a touch of color with some of the bedding we chose!

With the summer months upon us & the bump growing bigger & bigger, my wardrobe has definitely taken a little bit of a turn.  Like I said, I am not one to wear anything super tight.  I just love the flowy, oversized look.  I am also much more comfortable in these types of things.  I only own 1 pair of maternity jeans which I just bought last weekend, but we are here to chat about non-maternity, maternity clothes today!  Most of these items I have had in my closet since before I was pregnant or I have purchased them recently because I know that I can continue to wear them postpartum.  I do not want to overspend on maternity clothes that I know I won't wear next Summer, so the less actual maternity clothes I buy, the better.  This way I can continue to wear these pieces for seasons to come.

1.  Oversized tee
They are comfy, cool, & easy to pair with jeans, leggings, shorts, or skirts.  Most I had in my closet already, but I have added a couple so that I can constantly rotate through them.

Tee: Free People (black no longer available); Jeans: Target; Wedges: Nordstrom Rack-Franco Sarto

Tee: Target (similar); Jeans: Target; Wedges: Nordstrom Rack-Franco Sarto

Tee: TJ Maxx;  Jeans: Target;  Wedges: Nordstrom Rack-Franco Sarto

2.  Maxi Skirt
A Summer staple for me.  My favorite right now is this olive maxi from LuLaRoe.  LuLaRoe is a fun company that offers only a limited amount of items in each size.  I picked up this skirt from a local antique fair where there was a LuLaRoe booth.  The fabric is amazingly soft!  This is super versatile as you can style it as a maxi skirt or wear it as a dress.  It easily expands to grow with your bump!

3.  Swing Dress
Again, comfort & ease of wear!  These have been a go to for me lately.  They are light enough to wear when it's been super hot, but can be easily paired with a light jacket for a night out or cooler days.  You can dress them up or wear them casually.

Dress: Urban Outfitters (similar);  Wedges: Nordstrom Rack-Franco Sarto

I hope that some of you Mamas-to-be were inspired to maybe shop in your closets a little bit or to shop for pieces you know you can continue to wear after your little one comes.  Saving money is key when you have a new baby on the way.  This is just one of the ways I have learned to save some pennies :)

I would love to hear some of your favorite non-maternity, maternity clothes!  Share below in the comments!
